Leads and sales funnel
Track prospective students from first inquiry to enrollment: sources, statuses, trial lessons and conversion in a single click.
Updated:
Leads are prospective students who haven’t bought a package yet. They might come from Instagram, your website, a referral or an ad. The funnel in Mimiao lets you track each one from first contact to enrollment — and see which channels actually bring in students who stay.
Lead card
A lead card contains:
- Name and contacts — phone, email.
- Source — where the lead came from (Instagram, Facebook, website, referral, other). Sources are configured in Settings → Acquisition channels.
- Language and level — what they want to study.
- Comments — free-form notes from the manager.
- Inquiry date and the responsible manager.
Status funnel
Every lead sits at one of the funnel stages:
- New inquiry — the lead has just arrived.
- Contact made — the manager has reached out.
- Trial lesson scheduled — the date is agreed.
- Trial lesson delivered — the lesson is done, awaiting a decision.
- Converted — the lead became a student.
- Declined — the reason is recorded in a note.
The status changes manually or automatically (for example, on conversion).
A trial lesson straight from the lead card
From the lead card you can schedule a trial lesson: pick a date, time and teacher — the lesson shows up in the schedule without requiring a full student profile. The lead’s status automatically moves to “Trial lesson scheduled”.
A trial lesson doesn’t deduct lessons from a balance — there’s no balance yet. Once it’s delivered, the teacher marks it as usual.
Converting to a student
If the lead decides to stay, click “Convert to student” on the lead card. The system:
- Creates a student profile with all of the lead’s data.
- Moves the funnel status to “Converted”.
- Links the trial-lesson history to the new student profile.
No re-entering anything. From there you issue the first invoice and the student starts learning.
Channel analytics
In Analytics → Acquisition channels you’ll see a summary for the chosen period: how many leads came from each source, how many converted into students, and the conversion rate.
This lets you judge where it’s worth pushing your marketing harder and where the spend isn’t paying off.
Lead reminders
If a manager hasn’t contacted a lead for a few days, set up an automatic reminder. For example: “Lead with no status change for 3 days → remind the responsible manager”. More in the automations section.
Leads converted into students — now the important part is keeping them. Read about analytics and the churn-risk zone.
